It’s hard to believe that four years have passed since I changed the sphere of my work and began my learning path to become a Scrum Master. Looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown both professionally and personally. Over the years, I’ve learned many valuable lessons that have helped me become a better leader and mentor to my team.
My first courses on Scrum were held by Kelley in LinkedIn Learning. I am very grateful to Kelley O’Connell for so simple and clear explanation of Scrum basis. Due to it I managed to study further and now I am a professional certified Scrum Master with 3 years of work experience. I would like also to thank Kim Emery for her support and trust in me.
I have published the story of my experience using Moving Motivators by Management 3.0 at LinkedIn and it got so many reactions and some repost. And I remembered that so many reactions were at my post 4 years ago when I got my first LinkedIn Learning certificate Scrum: The Basis – the course presented by Kelley.
I’ve learned a lot of lessons already. One lesson that stands out is the importance of communication. As a Scrum Master, I quickly realized that clear and effective communication is essential to the success of any project. I learned to be a good listener, to ask the right questions and to communicate complex ideas in a way that everyone can understand.
Another lesson that I’ve learned is the importance of trust. Trust is the foundation of any successful team, and as a Scrum Master, it’s my responsibility to build and maintain that trust. I’ve learned to be transparent, to admit my mistakes and to trust my team to make the right decisions.
I’m also grateful for the many challenges that I’ve faced as a Scrum Master. Each challenge has taught me something new and helped me grow as a leader. Whether it was dealing with difficult stakeholders or managing a team through a crisis, I’ve learned to stay calm under pressure and to focus on finding solutions.
Having the right mentors at the right time shaped my career. They showed me the importance of collaboration and communication for successful delivery.
Learning and implementing Scrum framework methodology is not easy, but the passion for continuous improvement helped me achieve mastery. I never stop learning. I try to develop myself and take some certification trainings, take part in meetups and watch webinars.
Soon I am going to publish one more detailed post about another lessons and chalenges I have gone through. I need some time for it.
As I celebrate my four-year anniversary as a Scrum Master, I’m filled with gratitude for the lessons I’ve learned, the challenges I’ve overcome, my colleagues, all of you who read this post and who reacted and react to all my posts.
Here’s to many more years of growth and success!
