Embracing the Future: My Exciting Career Roadmap for the Coming Year

Embracing the Future: My Exciting Career Roadmap for the Coming Year

The end of the year is a good time to start thinking about what we want to do in the next one. It can be tough to plan when things keep changing, but having a plan is important. It helps us figure out what we want to achieve, what matters most and how to get there. Even though planning takes effort and thought, it’s worth it because it helps us know what to do and stay focused on the big things.

I’d also like to talk about my own goals for growing in my career. Before making any plans, I looked back at the last year to see what went well and what didn’t, and whether I did what I set out to do. You can find out more about this in my post Annual Summary: Celebrating My Year’s Achievements and Highlights

Then I identified my focus areas in work, what I need to deal with, and what I’m lacking. And here’s what I came up with:

  • OKR Practitioner training and certification. I would like to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for implementing OKRs, to understand what they are and how to apply them in my work.
  • ICP-Agile Testing training and certification by ICAgile. As someone who has worked as a tester and being Scrum Master and Agile Coach, I am interested in undergoing this training as testing plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of the products our teams create.
  • ICP-HR training and certification by ICAgile. I am interested in learning and understanding the processes of Agile transformation through HR, how to transform and adapt the organizational culture using agility and a focus on HR. I believe this is important and one of the key areas in organizational transformation.
  • ICP-ORG training and certification by ICAgile. Organization design is how a company is structured and operates; it influences how a company executes its strategy and goals. As a Scrum Master/Agile Coach, it is important for me to know and understand this. We all face and strive to overcome challenges – the need to launch new products and modify existing ones faster, restructure teams, change the company’s focus, enter new markets, reduce costs without compromising quality, and much more. Therefore, it is necessary to change the design.
  • Management 3.0 – I plan to continue to investigate, apply and describe the tools, as they are very helpful in working with teams, and I would also like to receive a Certificate of Practice. I have less than half way left to it.
  • PSM III certification by Scrum.org – I have been preparing for it for a very long time and want to pass it. This item has been moved from the plan for 2023.
  • I want to study more Powerful Questions and read the book Asking the Right Questions. A Guide to Critical Thinking by M.Neil Browne and Stuart M. Keeley.
  • to find a job in Europe/USA with relocation. If any of you can help me with this, I will be very grateful, since it turned out that this is an extremely difficult matter and this item in the plan has also been moved from the list for 2023.

This is a tentative plan and I understand the focus of where I need to move towards in the next year. However, I recognize that we live in a changing world and that my plan may evolve, with things being added or removed. This follows our core principle: plan-do-check-adapt.

I am looking forward to the upcoming year and the opportunity to pursue my plans. I am aware that the journey may be winding and some plans may change, but I am ready to adapt and embrace challenges to achieve my goals. With confidence and determination, I embark on the next stage of my professional growth, filled with enthusiasm and preparedness for new endeavors. Here’s to a year of opportunities and accomplishments ahead!
