I have obtained Professional Scrum Product Owner Certificate II

One of the points of my Summer Plan was to obtain PSPO2 certificate. And I did it. You can read about the plans for this summer in my post – My Plans For Summer 2023.

The Scrum Master and Product Owner roles are both critical to the success of a Scrum team. The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating the Scrum process, removing any obstacles that may impede the team’s progress and ensuring that the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices. The Product Owner, on the other hand, is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that the team is working on the most valuable and important work and communicating the product vision to the team. The Scrum Master and Product Owner should maintain a collaborative and communicative relationship, with a shared goal of delivering high-quality products to the customer.

While the Scrum Master and Product Owner have different areas of focus, they need to work closely together to ensure that the team is delivering value to the customer. The Scrum Master should support the Product Owner in gathering feedback from stakeholders, and help them to prioritize the product backlog. The Product Owner should involve the Scrum Master in team meetings, and seek their input on how to improve the team’s processes.

In December 2020 I have got the certificate from Scrum Alliance – Certified Scrum Product Owner, you can read my post about it – I am a Certified Scrum Product Owner!

It’s been a long time since then. I enjoy working side by side with my Product Owners and growing with them. I am very attracted to this role. And as long as I think about it and learn a lot, I understand that the Product Owner role aligns with my strengths and interests and I believe that I can make a valuable contribution to a Scrum team as a Product Owner. Maybe in the future I will turn into this role. Who knows?

And now based on my experience and knowledge I came to the conclusion – I need to take the next step and pass PSPO2 exam at Scrum.org. I began preparing: I have read all the recommendations at scrum.org. Really, if you carefully read all the materials, understand the meaning and roles of product metrics, you will have very good chances to pass the test successfully. But you should have not only the theoretical knowledge. It will be much easier if you have experience in this field.

Today I took this test and got very good result and obtained the certificate. Here it is:

What do you think about this role and its responsibilities? Have you got this certification? What are your impressions? Please share your experience. It will be inspiring and useful for all who are interested.
