I was recently asked how I can plan anything ahead during this difficult time. Yes, I can, because there are many things that no one has canceled: birthdays, trainings, trips, some major purchases. This is my character trait: in most cases, I plan some important and obligatory things in advance. This gives me an understanding and structure of life, helps me focus on the main things and avoid as much as possible something unforeseen and unpleasant, confidently move with small steps towards the goal and remain calm. Why? Because I have a plan. For example, in my post My Plans For Summer 2023 I told you about what certifications I would like to get this summer. One point of my plan has already been done – I Have Upgraded SAFe 5 Certification To SAFe 6, you can read both posts just clicking the titles.
No doubt, plans are not always fulfilled as desired, sometimes less than half. But in any case, a certain part of it is usualy done and I move forward. Probably, many of you can object to me: what’s wrong with unforeseen things? In general, there have always been and will be some surprises, if they are pleasant – it’s very cool. I love surprises when they are pleasant. But there may be some unplanned expenses, for example. That is why planning spending on education, travelling or other things that are already known in advance helps to distribute them more or less evenly so that it does not happen that at some moment you can be without money. Of course, I allow myself to decide something at the last moment and this keeps the interest in life.
Let’s talk a little on this topic in general. Planning is an essential aspect of our day to day lives. It is the process of setting goals, defining strategies, and determining the necessary actions to achieve those goals. Planning helps us to be more organized, efficient, and effective in achieving our objectives.
One of the main reasons why planning is crucial is that it enables us to prioritize our tasks and activities. When we plan, we can identify what is most important and allocate our time and resources accordingly. This helps us to avoid wasting time and energy on tasks that do not contribute to our goals or objectives. Planning also helps us to stay focused and motivated, which is essential for achieving our desired outcomes.
Planning helps us to manage our resources effectively. Whether it is time, money or other resources, planning helps us to allocate them in the most efficient and effective way possible. This can help us to achieve our goals faster and with less effort, which can be especially important in today’s fast-paced world.
There are several tools that can be used for everyday planning. One popular option is a physical planner or agenda, which can be used to write down tasks and appointments and keep track of progress. Another option is a digital planner or task management app, which can be accessed from a phone or computer and allow for easy updating and syncing across devices. Some people also use sticky notes or whiteboards to visualize their tasks and goals. Whatever tool is chosen, the key point is to find one that works best for individual needs and preferences and to use it consistently for effective planning.
